You can now sign up to take part in a “closed technical test” - basically an Alpha – for Gearbox’s MOBA-flavoured team shooter Battleborn.
You’ll need to have a Gearbox ShiFT account ( yeah, I couldn’t remember what that was either), but other than that it’s free to register.
Expect your game experience to potentially be a little clunky: “As we prepare for the release of Battleborn on February 9, 2016, the teams at Gearbox Software and 2K will be testing various aspects of the game and online infrastructure in an ever-expanding series of closed technical tests,” writes Gearbox.
Playable in both multiplayer and singleplayer, Battleborn offers five versus five arena PVP, or a Story mode that can be played solo or co-operatively. The game features 25 different hero characters, from robot gunslingers to samurai vampires. It’s expected to release in full on February 9, 2016.
