Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is released on PC today, digitally and in physical disc format. Or, as it turns out, just the former.
A Twitter user who got their physical copy of Hideo Kojima’s latest action-stealth epic has posted a number of screenshots that suggest the only file on the disc is a Steam installer. We live in a very stupid era.
That’s just under 9MB of data, if you’re wondering. It’s the sort of thing that makes a bit of a mockery of the fact that a lot of industry chart websites still don’t include digital sales in their final tally.
That means that people will have some serious downloading to do – around 28GB - before they want to play MGS5, even if they grab a boxed copy. Thankfully, it sounds like the game is worth the wait.
