Interplay has announced that its teaming up with Drip Drop Games to release a remastered version of ClayFighter, the cult claymation brawler first released in back 1993 for the SNES.
It’s not entirely clear from the announcement, but it sounds like the remaster will also include the game’s two sequels, or at least some content from them; ”The game will be packed with the best of all previous ClayFighter titles,” writes Interplay.
Developed by Visual Concepts and published by Interplay, ClayFighter was essentially an attempt to recreate the success of Mortal Kombat without all the shattered spines, decapitations and amateur tracheotomies. The first game was generally well received, as was sequel ClayFighter 2: Judgment Clay. ClayFighter 63⅓ later debuted on the Nintendo 64, with decidedly more mixed results.
Set for release on PC in 2016, the new version will include remastered audio and high resolution visuals, as well as:

• Characters such as Bad Mr. Frosty, Blue Suede Goo, Earthworm Jim, Hoppy, Boogerman, Tiny - and more with over 20 characters total!
• Over 20 familiar environments from the series to duke it out in!
• Brand new gameplay introducing new mechanics to the series such as double jumping, air dashing, counters, and reversals!
• Unique supers and ‘Claytality’ moves for each character!
