The bleak world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has just gotten a tad brighter as GOG.com is resurrecting ye olde Gamespy codes for the apocalyptic shooter, which also seem to be activating on Steam as well.
This is part of a wider initiative to dust off old game serial keys and get them revived digitally by GOG, who hope to expand what they can turn into a DRM-free copy. You get all the goodies and updates.
So far over $104k worth of games have been reclaimed DRM-free on GOG. They are also reclaiming Mount & Blade and Eador in Russian-speaking lands if keys were handled by StarForce.
