Two more free pieces of DLC have been released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as part of developer CD_ProjektCD Projekt’s plans to support the game with content from launch through July.
Owners of the game now have access to a very fancy set of Nilfgaardian armour, plus an Elite crossbow set of three weapons. If you’re counting, these are packs number 5 and 6, from a laundry list of 16 planned additions.
It seems a little churlish to complain about things you’re getting for free, but on the down side if the Nilfgaardian set is anything like the already available Temerian set, it’ll quickly become obsolete in the face of vastly superior witcher gear. According to Reddit, DLC armour has only two versions; one level 4 set purchasable at levels 1-28, and one level 29 version available at 29+. I get why this is the case, but it’s a bit of a shame Geralt can’t look this fabulous all through the game.
If you own a Steam copy of The Witcher 3 you should find the DLC added to your game automatically, while GOG.com owners are encouraged to install this handy collection. Expect more cool free stuff next week.
