Valve has updated its Steam Big Picture mode, which allows users to stream games on their television. Opt into the feature’s Beta and you’ll see a brand new UI, with a few additional convenience features.
Big Picture now has a library section, which houses everything you own in neat, easy to read categories. You can continue a game you’ve played recently, see what your friends are playing or get nagged by Steam into finishing titles you snapped up in a sale and never played, in the ‘Start something new’ section.
Again, this is all in Beta, but it seems like Valve is gearing up to be ready when its Steam Controllers and Steam Machines are ready to go this November – they’re specifically designed to encourage console-style play, so having a living room streaming feature set up makes sense.
