Dead Effect is, like around ninety-five per cent of all computer games, about shooting zombies into pieces with a bunch of high-tech weaponry. Originally released on iOS and Android, developer BadFly Interactive has just made the game available on Steam.
It’s been in Early Access for a while now, with Badfly promising several “new enemies and visual enhancements” requested by the community. It kind of looks like a first-person Dead Space, with creeping around spooky corridors replaced by minigunning down hordes of undead enemies.
Expect “12 challenging levels aboard the ship, ranging from hazardous laboratories and a dangerous nuclear core”, and a bunch of unpleasant upgradable devices with which to dismember things with. There’s a couple of special abilities to use too, including a version of bullet time and an area of affect attack.
Reception of the Early Access version on Steam is generally pretty positive, and there’s the added benefit that it’s on offer for a budget price of £5.59. You can get hold of Dead Effect here.
