Japanese developer SWERY 65 demonstrated a version of his episodic adventure game D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die running on PC at GDC this week, prompting rumours that the game will be released on the platform.
D4 was released on Xbox One last September, and due to the fact it made extensive use of Kinect controls gameplay, it looked unlikely that the game would be released on other consoles or platforms.
D4 does support regular controls, so it could easily make the transition, but whether SWERY considers a port worthwhile is another question. During his presentation, the developer used mouse controls to navigate the game.GameRadar reports that ‘drag and drop’ text prompts popped up during play, suggesting that a PC version could be on the way, but that SWERY was ”coy” when asked about a port.
D4 casts players as a private investigator whose wife has been murdered, traveling through time to try and prevent her death. The game’s coming to PAX East this weekend, where if SWERY 65 and his team are planning a PC version, we’ll presumably hear about it.
