Colossal Order’s Cities: Skylines harbours a terrible secret: asset limits. Fortunately the modding community has always proven itself when it comes to breaking down those artificial barriers, and have done so again.
All that wide open terrain for constructing your beacon of urban living can only go so far. There are only so many trees, roads and buildings the game supports no matter how many world tiles you unlock.
Understandably many Mayoral dreams for their perfect city designs burst into flames with the knowledge you can’t keep building roads, laying down fresh homes and decorating your countryside with a fervent green-thumb forever, despite all that land you own.
Now hope is once again ignited with the Unlimited Trees mod on the Steam Workshop.
This actually existed before but disappeared to the dismay of its subscribers, but now it’s back thanks to community members KnightHawkTFC and DRen72. It was originally put together by Mabako. Now the plan is to keep this frankly essential mod up-to-date.
”…with the mod enabled, the default limit of 262144 trees is increased to 1.048 million in a loaded game, the 250k limit remains in the map editor however,” described DRen72.
”If this is enabled and you do not yet or for that matter ever place more than 262144 trees (on your own) it basically does nothing, once you hit that default limit though it will allow you to place more trees and then of course save those extra trees in your saves and reload just like normal.” Disabling the mod should simply remove the extra trees in the city.
Plant a tropical forest in honour of modding heroes Mabako, KnightHawkTFC and DRen72.
The Unlimited Trees Mod is confirmed to work with the latest v1.1.0b update.
