One of the best things about reporting on video game news is that you get to use sentences like “lizardmen have been unlocked as a stretch goal” without everyone assuming you’re insane.
That’s exactly what’s happened in Underworld Ascendant’s [url=https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/othersidegames/underworld-ascendant
]Kickstarter campaign[/url], which though already funded well past its campaign goal, is still hoovering up some extra cash in its final few hours.
Lizardmen were added when the funding went past $750,000, and creature companions were added with the $800,000 stretch goal. That marker unlocked two critters, the vorpal rabbit and the mini-brain. These guys will help you out in and out of combat. It also unlocked an ‘enhanced music’ goal, which will give OtherSide the funds to add extra bits of score to the game.
”And, for passing the $775,000 mark along the way,” adds OtherSide, ”the Necrotic Graveyard will be added to the Stygian Abyss! This dark and foreboding locale seems to hold an allure for the various monsters and creatures of the Stygian Abyss who, upon arriving at the graveyard, pass away only to be reanimated as the undead. Don’t let your Companion Creatures too near this cursed place!”
Underworld Ascendant is fully funded and on the way with only four hours left to run on its campaign. To find out what OtherSide has in store for us, read our recent interview with creative lead Paul Neurath.
