Publisher Daedalic Entertainment has announced that it’s joining forces with developer Funatics, responsible for titles such as Panzer General Online and UFO Online, for “multiple new games in the future.”
The first game the two companies will be working on is an as yet untitled strategy game that will be published by Daedalic in 2015. They’ll also be handling digital distribution on two other games, Northland and 8th Wonder of the World.
“Funatics is a big constant in the German developer scene,” explains Daedalic founder Carsten Fichtelmann. “Since 1998 the team already produced a lot of well-known games and Thomas was just placed in the Hall of Fame at last December’s Deutscher Entwicklerpreis 2014. We are very happy that we can realize their next projects and distribute them globally.”
For its part Funatics says the deal will allow them to expand the presence and reach of their games in a way that wasn’t possible with the resources they had access to before. “Daedalic has a great position as an international publisher for digital products and that is the reason why we will not only do a single new project, but stretch our cooperation over multiple products,” says Thomas Friedmann, the company’s CEO.
The name as well as other details of that mystery strategy game will be announced by Funatics and Daedalic Entertainment at some point soon. This one will be distributed digitally and at retail worldwide.
