Publisher Iceberg interactive has announced that developer Jötunn Games’ debut tactical space combat game Ceres will launch on Steam and other digital platforms next Friday, October 16.
Focusing on ship customization and fast, action-packed combat, Ceres tasks you with leading a squadron of ships through a ruined solar system, trying not to get blown up by hostile AIs and aliens life-forms as you go.
”In a world where humans, monsters and machine-gods fight for survival, something will eventually have to give,” reads the plot synopsis. ”You play the role of a young adventurer, who just got his hands on his first spaceship, and is determined to make a name for himself. A routine scouting mission turns out to be something much greater when you encounter an A.I. called Ceres.”
You can hire new crew members and captains for your ships, outfit them with various weapons platforms and other tactical upgrades, and take them into battle, issuing orders in third-person via a ”simple yet deep point-and-click order system.”
