Codemasters has announced that their off-road rally racer DiRT Rally has launched on Steam, and the game will come with some premium day one downloadable content free for players who were a part of the game’s Steam Early Access.
The day one DLC is the Winter Wonderland update, which revolves around the snow and ice of the Varmland region of Sweden. The content features snow banks that show off Codemaster’s pioneering soft edge tech that simulates the density of snow. The benefit of the new tech is that it allows players to “lean” on those snow banks to get faster speeds and stage times. Also included in the DLC are two new cars, the Hyundai Rally and the Volkswagen Polo Rally. Both are relatively cutting edge rally cars that have hit the scene recently.
The Winter Wonderland update also supports Steam Workshop, which will allow players to control Car Setup & Force Feedback settings. It also adds improvements and refinements to both Global Leaderboards and League support.
The DVD version of DiRT Rally will be available on 5 April 2016. To celebrate the release of the game and its DLC, Codemasters released a new trailer showing off the Winter Wonderland tracks and cars as well.
