Gearbox announced the next round of content for its two most recent Borderlands games during a panel at PAX East over the weekend.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will get a new DLC pack called The Claptastic Voyage on March 24, while the second episode of Telltale’s Tales from the Borderlands adventure game will drop on March 17.
The Claptastic Voyage is based on classic sci-fi film Fantastic Voyage, and sees our four heroes take a terrifying trip into irritating robot Claptrap’s mind. You can check out a rather blurry teaser for the game above.
“We really wanted to make the most annoying thing we can think of,” 2K Australia’s Jonathan Pelling told the crowd at PAX East, according to PC Gamer. “We wanted to drill into his character more and see what makes him tick. We’ll be experiencing first-hand his neuroses, hopes, dreams, fears, and stupidity.”
And I’m sure it will be very annoying. New weapons include ‘Glitch Guns’, which radically change the way they handle in the middle of combat, with SMGs suddenly turning into mini-shotguns and so on. There will also be new skills and “irreparable psychological trauma”, according to the trailer.
Meanwhile, Atlas Mugged, the second episode of Tales from the Borderlands, will drop on March 17 or possibly later in that same week. Ready your loot sacks people.
