Paradox Interactive has announced free-to-play PvP Magicka: Wizard Wars will be leaving the Early Access badlands for a full release by the end of the month; April 28th. An all-new game mode and new maps will debut.
An update will arrive sooner on April 14th for those still testing, and includes ”several new features” giving a sneak peak to the full release, like a new progression system and ‘try before you die’ spells.
The developers are also revamping the in-game economy where all items are purchasable with Crowns, which can be earned or bought. There’ll be new Starter Packs on offer too. A breakdown of the new major changes coming have been posted on the Wizard Wars website.
Soul Harvest is the new game mode due at launch, challenging players to new maps, longer rounds and greater chances of self-harming spell mishaps.
“Building this game from scratch together with our great community has been amazing,” said David Nisshagen, Game Director. “We developers owe a huge debt of gratitude to our community for participating in our Early Access campaign—the feedback and ideas are crucial in helping us shape what the game has become and will become in the future as we continue to support the title beyond its initial launch. Now, we can’t wait to actually release Magicka: Wizard Wars to the masses!”
Magicka: Wizard Wars releases fully on PC April 28th.
