Charming lynx-em-up Shelter 2 will be out slightly later than expected, the game’s release pushed back to March 9 from an initial planned date in February.
Developer Might and Delight’s sequel to its 2013 badger-based survival game, Shelter 2 sees players guide their family of lynx cubs through a harsh and unforgiving landscape.
“We are currently polishing it and making sure its as good as can be. A lot of interesting features has been added this last sprint and hope that our fans will understand and forgive the delay,” say the developers.
As you can see from the gameplay footage above, the game’s looking very pretty. This time around the game’s open world is much larger than in the original, and there’s a whole new array of survival skills to master. Those who find themselves unable to watch nature documentaries in which small, cute furry things get eaten may want to be wary, however.
You can find Shelter 2 over on Steam, though it’s not available to pre-order until February 25. Pre-ordering will net you the soundtrack and a limited edition skin for the mother lynx.
