The multiplayer Beta for Cyanide Studios’ Blood Bowl 2 is now live, and to celebrate the news, the studio has released a teaser trailer showing off the game’s new Bretonnian team in action.
When I say new, I mean new to the entirety of Blood Bowl, not just the video games. Cyanide worked closely with Games Workshop to design the team, who prefer getting their hands bloody to actually playing any sports.
”Bretonnian teams are geared toward fighting,” explains the studio. ”They benefit from very skilled Blitzer players and dirt cheap linemen boasting respectable characteristics and the Fend skill. Blitzers are their key players, and any action undertaken by Bretonnian teams will revolve around them. While Blitzers are indisputably fantastic Blood Bowl players, they are also very expensive. They are necessary for any action carried out by their team, with other players mostly there to provide them with support. Strong yet still rather fragile compared to more bashy teams, Bretonnian team also lack agility, impeding their passing and running game.
As for the Beta, pre-order customers can jump in and play the multiplayer side of the game now, and their progress will be saved for when the game launches on September 22. There’s a guide to what to expect from the Beta here.
