StarGem Inc’s free-to-play space MMO Star Conflict has just received a new update titled Dogs of War, which focuses on players who don’t belong to one of the game’s factions, or Corporations.
The big change here is that non-affiliated players can join in the massive sector Dreadnought battle as mercenaries, entering the battleground queue directly without having to rely on a call from a Corporation.
Mercenaries also gain access to six new ships, which offer markedly different play-styles, from recon vessels to frigates. There are also new PvE challenges for non-Corporation players, including a new boss known as the Destroyer, a ”lone being hellbent on destroying all missile defence systems.”
“The ‘Dogs of War’ update offers a lot of new content and game additions tailored to our mercenary players,” said Stanislav Scorb, CEO of StarGem Inc. “Previously, certain aspects of the game were only accessible to corporation members, including the Dreadnought battles, which are very popular. We want everyone to enjoy the Star Conflict experience, and ‘Dogs of War’ allows that”.
