Mount and Blade already has a sizeable modding community, so it’s no surprise to hear developer TaleWorlds say it wants to make the process just as easy in forthcoming sequel Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord.
In fact, this time around it will be even simpler to mock up your own in-game version of Game of Thrones or Sengoku Japan according to the studio’s founder Armağan Yavuz.
”The new engine that we have is so much easier to work with for modders,” Yavuz tells PC Gamer. ”We have things like the terrain editor, the scene editor, etc. Those are much improved. They will give greater tools for modders. Also, our scripting system is now using .NET, so players will be able to write in C#. It is going to be much easier for them to create mods.”
”We’ll be supporting multiple mods together,” he continues, ”so players will be able to cherry pick the mods that they want, and they’ll be able to use them altogether to exactly customise the experience that they want.”
Mount & Blade 2 adds all-new siege weapon and crafting mechanics to the series’ trademark blend of open-world adventuring. TaleWords hasn’t set an official release date yet.
