Sandbox survival adventure Edge of Space will exit Steam Early Access on September 17, developer Handyman Studios has announced.
That’s a full release for the game roughly two years after it was first announced, and during that time Handyman has slowly whittled it into shape. The current closed Beta for Edge of Space will continue up until launch day.
“For the small price of your souls (an NDA),” writes the team, “you can opt in and check out all the work that’s gone into the game since we last patched the main branch. For those who want to see it for the first time when we launch, you can mark your calendars for September 17th!”
For the uninitiated, the game’s similar in style to survival hits like Terraria, though it plays on the sci-fi theme a lot more heavily. You navigate various synamically-generated planets with only your trusty laser pick, scraping together tools and resources to build better gear, while trying not to get eaten or shot by hostile wildlife and aliens. You know the score.
Edge of Space is available on Steam for £9.99.
