Space Hulk: Ascension has a new expansion, adding yet another classic Space Marine chapter - this time it’s the turn of grumpy, secretive space-knights the Dark Angels, or more specifically their elite Terminator squad, the Deathwing, to go around stomping some tyranid heads.
These guys, at least in the game, seem to operate in the middle ground between melee specialists like the Space Wolves, and ranged weapon fans like the flamethrower-happy Salamanders. The Dark Angels bring a heavy-hitting plasma cannon to the party, but they also utilise the Apothecary class (basically your combat medic, non-Games Workshop nerds), and have access to thee new psychic spells.
New campaign ‘Bringer of Sorrow’, which adds 20 new story missions and 20 flash missions, is based on the tabletop skirmish campaign of the same name. It features a squad of Dark Angels killing their way through an abandoned shipwreck, which I’m sure will be an absolutely massive surprise to everybody. You can also play through the new content as another chapter if you wish.
The Dark Angels DLC, which is on offer at 10% off its full price of $5.99 on Steam for the next week, might be the last piece of extra content we see for Ascension. Developer Full Control [urhttp://nordicgame.com/dk-studio-full-control-halts-production-shifts-focus/]announced[/url] that it would no longer be developing games last month, though founder and CEO Thomas Hentschel Lund did say that ”community support” for Ascension would continue.
