King’s Quest may as well be considered one of the most well-known and well-regarded adventure series of all time. Much to the joy and surprise of fans everywhere, Sierra was able to pull the series out of the ashes and successfully revive it back in July. Today, players can continue their journey through King Graham’s rise to prominence in Chapter 2: Rubble Without a Cause.
The second chapter of King Graham’s journey launched worldwide today on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Players will pick up where they left off as an elderly King Graham recounts stories of his rise to the crown to his granddaughter, Gwendolyn. Having just taken the crown, Graham must prove himself worthy of his people’s trust when mountain-dwelling goblins threaten the citizens of Daventry.
The reboot of King’s Quest brought a surprising amount of charm and enjoyment back to the withered series and gave it the injection of life it needed. In contrast to the point-and-click interface of previous titles, players take direct control of Graham in the reboot and make choices that will move events in a certain manner down the line. Players will decide whether Graham faces his challenges with force, wit, or compassion, and choices made in chapters may have lasting consequences on future endeavors.
PC players can find King’s Quest on Steam. The first chapter is required to play the second and so on. Players can purchase the episodes separately for $9.99/ £ 6.99 or pick up the season pass which includes all five chapters for $29.99/£23.99.
