Psyop Games has announced a new hardcore tactical military shooter, Moving Hazard, which has one twist: although it takes place after a losing war against the zombie apocalypse, the zombies are a weaponized asset in combat against other humans.
The studio’s tech head Matt Wilkinson compared it to the way the undead were used as a combat tactic in The Walking Dead and Dawn of the Dead. “Using the zombies as weapons causes chaos, fear, and confusion that can quickly overwhelm opponents and change the landscape of the battle,” he described, ”Moving Hazard looks to capture this moment with fresh tools and tactics that will combine classic military shooter and zombie survival gameplay in a totally new way.”
In addition to the usual realistic weaponry and armor, players will have the following utilities to use to sic zombies on foes:
- The Pheromone Attractor Molotov (aka The PAM): turns any infected frenzied and hunt down enemies for a short period of time.
- The Chaos Grenade: which stuns enemies while frenzying nearby zombies.
- The Templar: broadcasts a signal that repels zombies, forcing the horde to turn in their tracks to head away as fast as possible.
Psyop Games released a video showing off raw gameplay footage of the alpha build to give an idea of what combat will be light. The game is expected to have a release sometime in 2016.
