Retro shooter Strafe turned heads with its clever, nostalgic live-action trailer a few weeks back, and the gameplay footage that popped up shortly afterwards only made us more interested.
Now developer Pixel Titans has announced that a very early pre-alpha demo will be made available on PC and Mac. Be warned though, they use the term “broken” a lot when discussing it.
“It might have major bugs, like enemies literally dancing for death,” warns developer Thom Glunt. “It might begin WWIII after your computer is mistaken on radar for a nuclear warhead.”
Consider yourself sufficiently warned. The demo contains a Speed Run mode with score tracking, letting you test yourselves against developers and streamers who’ve had access to the game for a while.
“Enjoy. Get excited, but please realize we initially didn’t want people to play it until it was perfect. Remember this is just the beginning. We’re excited to build on this and complete STRAFE in the most amazing way.”
Head here to grab the free demo. Hopefully this won’t be the last we see of Strafe – the game’s got to raise around another $30,000 before its Kickstarter campaign ends in just over two days.
