New indie developer Isokron has announced a twist on the popular soccer management game genre, turning it into a competitive MMO in which team owners compete with each other in a dynamic soccer universe.
The game, 90 Minute Fever, will have players taking over their own teams in their own league association and face off against other teams in live matches. Their victories and losses will be tabulated as part of a worldwide soccer confederation. Each league will have its own tournaments.
Players will also be able to analyse statistics and formulate individual game-plans against the teams they’re scheduled to play. They’ll be adjusting their strategy to adapt to their opponent’s strengths and weaknesses. As a management sim, they’ll also have to recruit new players and hire their own coaching staff as well. Teams can be individually customized, including names, colours, emblems and mottos, using the Club Creation Kit.
Isokron states that there will be a public beta early 2016; the release of the game is expected to be in late 2016.
