Matrix Games and Western Civilization Software has today announced that the next installment in their American Civil War strategy series, Brother against Brother, now has a release date.
Encompassing the entire first year of the civil war, Drawing of the Sword focuses on the early battles of the conflict and allows players to control both sides, the Confederacy and the Union, as they participate in each skirmish.
An extensive amount of research has meant that the maps and orders that can be given in each battle accurately reflect their real-life counterparts.
Furthermore, the game also permits players to simulate a number of what-if scenarios too; allowing the realisation of victories or losses that never came to be in the history books.
Speaking about the game Erik Rutins, director of product development at Matrix Games, said, “It’s always a pleasure to work with the team at Western Civilization Software, but I believe this release is truly special. For Civil War computer wargame fans, I believe that the incredible research and great gameplay included in Brother against Brother will make this game the definitive treatment of these battles for years to come.”
Brother against Brother: The Drawing of the Sword is set to release for Windows PC on April 16th.
