Harebrained Schemes’ Kickstarter campaign for Shadowrun: Hong Kong continues its pledge drive with just under a month still left to burn, and today they’ve pushed through $550k for Enhanced Magic.
This means the team will be expanding the current magic system in Shadowrun to spice up the options for magic-users, like Shrine Spirits for Shamans, and Foci - enchanted weaponry for others.
”…we’ll add new gameplay options and equipment for magic-using characters. Shamans will gain the ability to summon Shrine Spirits at specific locations in the Hong Kong environment.”
”These great-form spirits are far more powerful than their mundane counterparts, can’t break away from your control, but are limited in duration. Hermetic mages and physical adepts will gain access to Foci - enchanted weapons and objects that can boost a spellcaster’s magical power or allow an adept to deliver devastating magical attacks,” reads the stretch goal on Kickstarter.
The next milestone is $600k for Gaichu’s personal side mission, which means we could end up facing off against the former Red Samurai’s highly-trained teammates who will stop at nothing to kill him. Should the pledges keep rolling in then $700k will have Harebrained revamp the Matrix sections.
