NeocoreGames has announced that what seems like one of the fastest trilogy turnovers in video game history will culminate this month with the release of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3 on Steam this Friday, May 22.
The first entry in the gothic, hack and slash action RPG dropped on the very same date back in 2013, which pretty much makes the production rate a game per year. Not bad, especially considering each entry has been pretty good.
For the third game, hero Van Helsing is up against a cult that’s predicting the “end times”, lead by an enemy from his past. It’ll also delve into the background of Lady Katarina, the demon hunter’s ghostly companion.
It’ll also bring two new classes, the Bounty Hunter and the Constructor. The former is a long-range sniper class that can send out decoys to scout ahead and pick off enemies, while the latter emplys a floating gun platform and “an army of turrets, ornithopters and dismemberbots”. I know which one I’d choose, to be honest. You can check both out in the trailer above.
With a single-player campaign, four-player co-op online and eight-player PvP, Van Helsing 3 should be a neat way to close out a very entertaining little trilogy. Look for the game on Steam this Friday.
