Controversial shooter Postal 2 was released way back in 2003, so you might be forgiven for thinking that the odds of developer Running With Scissors releasing any more content for the game would be pretty damned low. You’d be wrong then, because new DLC pack Postal 2: Paradise Lost is now available on Steam.
When it popped up twelve years ago ostal 2, which featured both a urination button and the use of a cat’s backside as a silencer, if you were for some reason unaware of what kind of game this is, was variously described as ”offensive”, ”abhorrent”, and ”the worst product ever foisted upon consumers”. Needless to say it picked up quite a cult following.
Paradise Lost takes place after main character Postal Dude’s hometown has been destroyed by a a nuclear attack. It’s a full new campaign with new weapons including a lever-action shotgun, ‘Weed Whacker’ and a revolver, quests and more of the series’ trademark free-roaming gameplay.
”Fierce Lawmen, crazed Bandits, deranged Doomsday Survivalists, and a phallic child’s toy mascot await,” reads the game’s Steam description. ”Do whatever it takes to survive! Wait in lines! Use vending machines! Buy toilet paper! Journey to where it all began to rescue your loyal companion!”
Judging from that, I imagine the game’s as determinedly puerile and stupid as it ever was. I doubt that hardcore fans would want it any other way. You can grab Postal 2: Paradise Lost on Steam at 15% off for the next month. It does require the base game in order to run.
