After being delayed three weeks, the highly anticipated Dungeons & Dragons-licensed game Sword Coast Legends is now available on digital distribution.
”As D&D fans, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to revisit the Forgotten Realms universe as we set out to capture the spirit of adventuring and storytelling in a whole new way. We’d like to thank our amazing community of dedicated gamers who participated in our Head Start weekends leading up to today’s launch. Their feedback was essential in helping us create a better game we hope players will enjoy for many years to come.” said developer n-Space president Dan Tudge.
Aside from the Baldur’s Gate-style roleplaying campaign, Sword Coast Legends also features a DM Mode in which one player takes on the role of a Dungeon Master who uses “threat level” to enhance the other four player’s challenge, such as altering monster placement, putting down traps, and so on. However, if the DM causes a “total party kill”, the threat level decreases. This incentivizes the DM to make the dungeon tougher but not be sadistic.
The developer also teased the upcoming “Rage of Demons” DLC expansion, stating more info on it and other post-launch updates would be detailed at a later date.
