CD Projekt Red’s revealed the first screenshots of the World Map for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and as you can probably guess for an open-world RPG, it’s pretty damn big.
The first screenshot of the map shows a smaller Prologue area from the start of the game that introduces you to the mechanics and gets you started. The other two screenshots show the much larger Northern Realm, which is where you’ll be located for much of the game, although there’s also an archipelago destination that can only be visited by boat. What’s most impressive is that this archipelago area is one of the only locations on the map where you’ll experience a loading screen.
Gamespot was lucky enough to visit CD Projekt Red’s studio in Poland to learn more about the world map and other mechanics in the game, but fortunately for us they brought these screenshots back with them to show everyone what the world map is like. It’s massive!
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches on 19th May for the PC via Steam and GOG. We’ll have our hands on review code soon, so hopefully we’ll be able to bring you more content shortly, stay tuned!
