Reflection MSAA? Don’t bother. Nvidia has launched an extensive ”Graphics and Performance Guide” for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. They cover every graphical configuration and explain exactly what they do in-game.
It’s worth a read as you’ll soon discover a few items on the list don’t really need to be cranked all the way up. They also include an art’s gallery worth of interactive comparisons between settings. Let the obsession begin!
Seriously though, turn off Reflection MSAA. It. Does. Nothing.
”Reflection Multisample Anti-Aliasing reduces reflection aliasing, but as the world is constantly in motion, and you’re typically on the go too, it’s unlikely you’ll ever notice its benefits.”
We also get to understand what NVIDIA PCSS is under the shadows setting, which apparently offers a more ‘realistic’ soft shadows where ”shadows progressively soften as the distance from the casting object increases, improving fidelity and immersion.”
