The developers of Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward have acknowledged that some of the raids introduced in the 3.15 update are just too difficult for players - the Gordias (Savage) raid in particular - and the upcoming 3.20 update will tweak them so that they are less frustratingly hard.
This wasn’t a case of players whining about a raid being too hard, either. Director Naoki Yoshida realized things were off by player activity. He noted in a forum post:
- The difficulty was high to the point that players were transferring to different Worlds in search of groups to beat it.
- The difficulty was high to the point that players were unable to clear the content, and the time in which they were unable to obtain items grew too long.
- Due to the severity of DPS checks, it’s not possible to supplement with item levels only.
To solve the issue, the level requirements for the raid will be lowered, with the mobs and bosses being nerfed.
The update will also tweak Exploratory Missions and modify the stats and requirements to gain rare Anima weapons.
