We’ve seen a lot of n-Space and Digital Extremes’ fantasy RPG Sword Coast Legends, but most of it has been the game’s Dungeon Master-lead multiplayer modes.
So it’s nice to get a good look at the singleplayer story, which plays out – in the grand tradition of Forgotten Realms CRPGs – as a pausable, real-time isometric dungeon crawler.
This section of the campaign is played by design director Tim Schwalk and community manager Ash Sevilla, and although it’s not going to blow your trousers off with jaw-dropping visuals or radical innovation, it looks like a solid slice of fun dungeoneering.
It’s the first time in a while we’ve been able to traipse around the Realms, and the addition of co-op should provide an extra dose of fun. I’m quite looking forward to giving it a go when the September 29 release date rolls around.
