Creative Assembly has announced a new major expansion for Total War: Attila, the Age of Charlemagne, which takes place long after Attila’s reign had ended, during the Medieval Age. It will be released on 10 December 2015.
The game puts the player in the role of Charlemagne in the year 768 AB, ”as one of the greatest kings in history endeavours to bring peace to the continent… by whatever means necessary.”
The expansion brings a brand new Medieval-styled campaign map, which features the introduction of 300 new units including Thegns, Fyrd Axemen, Scola Knights, Berber Jinetes, Gazehounds and the feared Seax-armed Saxon warriors. It also adds over 50 conquerable provinces as well as new campaign mechanics such as “war weariness” and new states to attempt to bring into your kingly fold.
Total War: Attila was released back in February 2015, and GameWatcher awarded it an 8.0/10 score in its review.
