Indie developer Prelude Games Factory has launched the Kickstarter for their Gothic sandbox MMO,”inhabited by vampires, werewolves and ghosts,” with the possibility of perma-death.
According to the developer, the game is inspired by such games as EVE Online, The Secret World, Assassins Creed, and the Batman Arkham series. There are be no class or level restrictions, and will stress social encounters for players to establish contacts, intermingle with other players and make deals with the enemy.
The game also seems to be heavily inspired by the World of Darkness, with Kindred vampires having four different societies, also known as Sabbath, including the high society Domini, the wandering vulture-like Hort Packs, the conservative religious Orthodox Theocracy and the corporate CRUOR Corp.
As for perma-death, Prelude Games Factory states that players can permanently lose your character, but only if their “well-being/sanity” gets low enough.
