There are two weeks left in the Kickstarter crowdfunding drive for the Alone in the Dark-style survival horror game Song of Horror, and the developer, Protocol Games, has released a demo for anyone who wants to experience its gameplay.
The demo is intended to show off the game’s basic mechanics, and is also fairly brutal in its difficulty. ”There is no previous tutorial nor any lengthy explanation. You get thrown into it and are left to fend for yourself,” warns the developer. ”We have included some tips whenever you die and whenever certain major events with the Presence happen, but the rest is up to your reaction and observation skills. The patterns are there, you just need to work them out to get to the end!”
In other words, prepare to die a lot.
