Japanese developer Cave, best known for their bullet hell shooters on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, is porting Mushihimesama HD to PC. The game will be available on Steam on 5 November 2015.
The game puts players in the role of Mushihime Sama (which is literally “Bug Princess” when translated from Japanese), who must leave her village to meet the God of the Koju, a race of giant insect-like creatures, to save her people from a mysterious sickness. In order to do this, she must traverse the dangerous wilds and defend herself from aggressive Koju in the process.
Mushihimesama was originally released as a coin-op arcade game and was ported to the PlayStation 2. It later received an HD remaster on the Xbox 360.
The Steam release of Mushihimesama will feature three game modes, multiple difficulty settings, online leaderboards and the original 1.5 downloadable content pack.
