The next game from Double Fine Productions is a 2D side-scrolling adventure called Headlander, developed in partnership with Adult Swim Games.
It’s got a pretty neat concept; you play as the disembodied head of the last human being in existence, who finds himself lost in a galaxy ruled by sentient robots.
The trick is, you can attach your head to various different robotic bodies, allowing you to solve puzzles, enter combat and interact with your environment in interesting ways. According to IGN, combat takes a back step to exploration and problem-solving – you need to access new bodies to pass through different security areas, so blasting everything in sight isn’t a good option.
Sounds very odd, and very interesting. The game’s website is hosted over on the Adult Swim website, but as of yet there’s little solid information other than the conformation of a 2016 release date.
