Out of the Park Developers has announced that their premium sports management sim Franchise Hockey Manager 2 is now available on digital distribution, along with a new launch trailer.
Franchise Hockey Manager 2 boasts 21 leagues from around the world from which to select a team to manage by signing free agents, negotiating trades, drafting top picks, setting lines and other in-game tactics. Or, players can create their own fictional league and generated new random players.
OOTP Developments has also completely revamped the in-game engine and core systems to improve realism. According to the developer, ”With the new engine, every second of a game is simulated and the engine keeps track of exactly which zones the puck is in and where all players are, at all times. This allows us to simulate the flow of a hockey game much better than before, with each event playing out through the engine.” In particular, the Tactics System has been overhauled.
If that weren’t enough, a mechanic to create expansion teams for existing pro leagues is now available. Players of existing teams have to choose which players to protect, while expansion team owners have to figure out how to build their neophyte team into contention.
