Remember that zombie survival game Ubisoft announced way back when? You probably forced it out of your mind when you learnt it was a Wii U exclusive. Well, now it’s coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4.
With the Wii U not quite living up to its initial promise, Ubisoft is jumping over to PC with an ‘upgraded’ version of Zombi. Of course it would need a big overhaul anyway as you couldn’t exactly port it straight over.
In Zombi death isn’t the end for either the infected shuffling about or the player. When we die we assume control of another survivor who can then track down their former life, now possibly a walking corpse, to retrieve their gear.
”…ZOMBI returns to challenge gamers on multiple new platforms to find out how long they can survive in dilapidated, infected London. For the second time in history, a great plague has shrouded the city in a fog of death. Thousands have died, or worse, been infected by a sickness more gruesome than death.”
”The bug-out bag is a necessary component for survival for each player as it contains all the player’s tools, inventory, first aid kits, maps and more. With permadeath, players are faced with a death mechanic which puts them in the body of a different survivor each time they die.”
”In order to retain the equipment they previously gathered in their bug-out bag, they are forced to track down their old, infected character. Should players risk it all to get their bag back or start scavenging anew?”
Zombi releases on PC digitally August 18th.
