Avalon Lords: Dawn Rises is a game that developer and publisher Animus Interactive describes as a “Total War Killer”. It’s a medieval real time strategy that features both a single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode with up to 3v3 players.
Avalon Lords: Dawn Rises is set in the lands of Spero, where six city states rule over the land. Tensions are running high between the lords of these six states, with several battling it out to take control of the region and make themselves king. You start the game as a minor Lord of the City of Avon, one of Spero’s six city states. Lord Avon has sent you out to form a new city in a strategically desirable part of the realm, but soon you’ll meet a rising leader who seeks to unite the warring Lords under one order – the Order of Dawn.
While Avalon Lords: Dawn Rises is a stand-alone title that features both single-player and multiplayer, Animus Interactive says that it’s planning a MMORTS for Avalon Lords further down the line that will borrow mechanics and other features from this release.
The multiplayer seems to have two modes; Conflict Mode is where you’ll be able to build cities and armies in a longer drawn out fight, while Battle Mode is a lot shorter as players preselect armies to take into battle to fight for victory.
Avalon Lords: Dawn Rises is currently set to released on the 28th April, 2016 for PC, Mac and Linux. Check back soon for more on the game.
