Showing no signs of slowing down, Lara looks set to be getting a third entry in her reboot series should an unbelievably sharp eye be trusted. Is Shadow of the Tomb Raider real?
Making rounds on Reddit and thus being picked up by numerous media outlets, user Tripleh280 posted the above image to Reddit with the caption "Saw someone working on a presentation for "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" on the subway". Miraculously attaining an 89% upvote rate on downvote central, there's as many skeptics as their are believers right now.
While it wouldn't exactly be hard to spoof an event like this for your own gain, it's also far enough away from the normal methods employed in a hoax of this kind to raise eyebrows for both sides of the argument.
The picture in question, while conveniently blurry, shows someone working on a document through what appears to be a Microsoft Office program. Though the user cites it as a presentation, the work looks to have more in line with a launcher screen or lengthy design document.
It's naive to expect much more to come of this, but you can bet whoever decided to work on a confidential document on a crowded train is getting a stern talking to today. It'll likely be a while before we hear of Shadow of the Tomb Raider again. If ever.
