Seen enough Gridlock for one lifetime? Since the dawn of the original Gears of War, Epic (and now The Coalition) has brought everyone's favorite locust-infested multiplayer map back into every game in the series - usually eliminating the need for most of the other maps. Well now we're getting some more free recreations in an attempt to dethrone the concrete jungle yet again.
If you got your grubby mitts on a Gears of War 4 season pass, you'll be playing both the Checkout and Drydock maps later today. Those without will have to spend another week shooting BBs and Pouncers on the old roster. And by that we mean Gridlock.
Those having previous experience with the series may recognize the two new arenas - they're plucked straight out of Gears of War 3! Although they've obviously been given a lick of paint for their Unreal Engine 4 debut.
Both will be available for PvP multiplayer matches and Horde mode encounters. Checkout sees Cole's hometown supermarket being reclaimed by nature 25 years on while Drydock just looks little more... dry after all those years.
There's two flythrough videos available, but we can only link the one for now. Checkout is below, so you can click here to see Drydock for yourself.
