Oh, Remedy, you’re such a terrible tease. Not only do your games take a half-decade to come out, they’re already filled with hints of what’s coming next.
The good folks over at Polygon got some hands-on time with the time-bending, FMV-powered action title Quantum Break, and discovered more than a hint of Alan Wake references. There’s a blackboard full of plot analysis, which you can see in a video embedded below, and a fancy live-action trailer for an Alan Wake thing. Sadly, they weren’t permitted to record video of it, but they did take down a pretty descriptive rundown of it that you can check out in the article linked above.
While this trailer could be a throwaway easter egg– Remedy has a long tradition of recording extensive FMV for throwaway easter eggs–the recent trademark filing for Alan Wake’s Return suggests that there could be something more to the tease. Only time will tell.
Quantum Break will release for PC and Xbox One on April 5.
