Popping up in late July, we're already well aware there's a Pathologic remake coming our way. But just how close is it? Well, you'll be able to play a 'vertical slice' later today.
Though the title was delayed shortly after its Kickstarter campaign reached its all-important goal (talk about timing), Ice-Pick Lodge will be dishing out a playable demo to those who pledged $80 or more earlier this year.
Delivered to give those generous players "an early taste of Pathologic's weird and warped world", don't go in expecting an identical recreation of the original. It won't be that. Though the visuals set a similar mood, the developers have mentioned the title making "drastic changes" to the original formula.
You know what'll be out before this? Resident Evil 7. Everyone needs more horror titles in their lives.
In an effort to show this, they're ramping up the marketing campaign. So even if you didn't throw down a sack of money at the developer's shoes in July, you'll be able to get a general feel for the game by watching the ongoing series of teaser trailers handled in a similar fashion to Capcom's Resident Evil 7 campaign.
There's 5 to start and probably plenty more to come. We can likely expect to see playthroughs of the demo hitting YouTube the moment the demo lands on people's hard drives, too.
