With all the hot scoops coming from TwitchCon over the weekend, one such gem to shine through the pile was non other than a sequel to 2015 indie hit ‘The Escapists’.
Team 17 and Mouldy Toof are again working together to bring the prison-escape sandbox to Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017.
Thanks to fan outcry having lasting effects from the original title, co-op play will make its debut in the teased sequel. Debbie Bestwick, CEO of Team 17 made sure to express her own interest in the much-requested mode; “As a player with quite a few prison escapes under my own belt I can’t wait to work together with my friends on escapes.”
Chris Davis, founder of the studio in question commented on how he’s “thrilled to be working with my friends at Team17 again”, saying how “The Escapists 2 takes everything the fans loved from the first game and adds in so many new additions and features on top.”.
There’s a short but oh-so-sweet teaser trailer below. It’s currently unknown which quarter of 2017 The Escapists 2 has taken aim. We still have a review of the original over here.
