Space Hulk: Deathwing, the upcoming first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, will be available for download on PC, December 9. The developers will begin inviting Steam pre-order players to join closed beta shortly.
Starting next week, the developers will invite a limited number of pre-order players to join a closed-beta to help the developers gather the latest technical and gameplay feedback for the game. Then, starting around November 20, ALL players who have pre-ordered the game on Steam will be able to get their first taste through a new beta. Players will be able to experience the game’s tutorial to learn the basics before teaming up to complete a mission from the game’s campaign with up to 3 other players in co-op.
Set in the Warhammer 40k universe Space hulk places you in the role of a member of a terminator squad who specialize destroying space hulks. A space hulk in the lore is an amalgamation of ancient ships and space debris, and Olethros (the name of the space hulk in the game) is filled with lore from the 10,000 years since the dawn of the Imperium to the 41st Millennium. You will be exploring Black Templar ships, troop transports, and even pirate vessels that were lost in the Warp and became part of the Space Hulk OIethros’ bowels.
Alongside the news of the beta, the developers also released a new trailer. The ‘Enter the Space Hulk’ trailer showcases plenty of gameplay and explains the game’s setting and what players can expect throughout the game. Warhammer fans should be eagerly awaiting this title and from what we’ve seen so far it could become an instant fan favorite.
