Road Redemption, a modern take on Road Rash’s motorcycle combat racing, took to Kickstarter in 2013. They had expected to deliver a final product in August of 2014, but as with many crowdfunding projects, things didn’t quite go according to schedule. It looks like a final release is around the bend, though.
”We admittedly need to do a much better job providing updates on our development progress,” said the developers in a Kickstarter update. ”Although we have taken longer than we hoped to complete the game, we are dedicated to making the game that we promised. We’ve recently added more developers to Road Redemption, and we’re working hard to finish the great game we envisioned in our original Kickstarter pitch. In the next month or two, we should be ready to upload a new build on Steam so you’ll be able to see our progress!”
Their list of improvements include improved driving and physics, better AI, a new UI, a new weapons upgrade system, better, more varied missions, boss fights, improvements to splitscreen co-op, and online multiplayer. “Our current plan is to finish development of the PC version by the end of this summer.”
The early version of Road Redemption is available for $19.99 on Steam, and user reviews have generally been positive.
