Seven: The Days Long Gone hasn't' really been spoken about much since its April demo session. It's been radio silence across the board. Until now, anyway. Resurfacing in Poland, the team behind the isometric RPG are finally ready to show off a little more of their take on the virtual wasteland.
Already heralded as a beautiful feat of world design, it's clear the team know what they're doing and where they're headed when it comes to crafting the lands of their game. They're dishing out some screenshots today and promising a bunch of new videos soon, so lets see what we've got.
In a way, you can already tell part of the development team consists of those who spent time with CD Projekt Red. Being the folks behind The Witcher, it isn't surprising to see Seven: The Days Long Gone take the route it has. There's the beautiful last bastion of hope in Hallard, the small town of Mortbane and a swamp with no name on display this time around. And while we'll get to see them in motion, we'll only start seeing fully-fledged video in the weeks to come.
How did the eagerly anticipated Pillars of Eternity fair against our judge? Quite well, actually.
Seven: The Days Long Gone is being billed as a Thief-inspired tale of a lone traveller. Exploring the wide-open world of the Empire of Vetrall, you'll be dropped into a 3D isometric sandbox similar to those seen in Divinity and Pillars of Eternity (to name the recent ones, at least). Scale walls with you parkour skills and explore a world recovering from a catastrophic end.
Who knows when we'll be taking our first steps across the Vetrall Empire's capital city or the gas-filled town of Mortbane on the Peh isand. But we have a few videos to look forward to, apparently.
